84 class C rooms in a typical "facing the park" situation where the location is the major attraction. Originally a very worn down and outdated structure, this building was completely redesigned while adding approximately 40% new built areas to create a modern Young Urban habitat for guests that are on the move. Situated at one of the highest points in the Old City Basin, the architectural design exploits the site's most magnificent asset- wide views to the old and new city of Jerusalem. With this in mind, we designed a special glass curtain wall incorporating an original arabesque of cnc cut aluminum sheets. This feature became the strong theme of Modernity based on Tradition that runs through the project. The rooms enjoy floor to ceiling exposures to the view while the arabesque aluminum mesh provides shelter from sun and exterior views. The public spaces are humble and cosy located on the ground floor and exclusively on the roof top terrace. Back of the house areas allocated in the basement floors.
