Kiryat Ye'arim Youth Village
Design phase: completed 2006
Client:
Kiryat Ye'arim Youth Village
Built area:
850 sqm

Student residences. Two dormitory buildings, clubs and related uses for at-risk youth. The youth village serves as a home to youth sent there by welfare officials, and therefore these residential structures are "home" for these teenagers. Much attention was paid to fostering feelings of light, openness, and acceptance on the one hand, while complying with the strict anti-vandalism requirements on the other. In this framework much attention was paid to choosing specific materials and matching the building details. Time has shown that these structures are able to be effectively maintained and encourage positive use of their facilities. The planning included the full landscape design.
